lovekelsie asked: What's one thing you're afraid of?

Not earning enough to pay off my loans, own a home and support a family.

I was more reckless than I should have been about borrowing for living expenses in law school and should have lived in shittier apartments for less money.

Additionally, I overestimated what my starting salary (and thus subsequent salaries) would look like coming out of school, so although I was concerned about how much I was borrowing, I was less concerned than I should have been because I assumed I’d be making more money than I do. So now, between student loans and rent, it’s like I pay two mortgages, but without a house to show for it.

So now I worry about how I’m going to be able to pay my loans and rent, but also do things like save for my retirement, save for a house, save for a wedding or even save for an engagement ring.

So far those things are a little far off since I’m young and very single, but I still worry.
